Meet the Musicians

Andie & Josh Catania

“The beauty is in the details.”

The flute has always been an important part of Andie’s life. As a young girl, she enjoyed playing living room serenades for her family and anyone else who would listen (including her cats). Even from a young age, she was fiercely determined to practice and perfect each note. Never timid to perform, Andie soon began performing on the concert stage, participating in recitals and competitions. While in high school, she won a seat in the top ensemble in the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra program, performing in major concert venues regionally and internationally on tour in Argentina and Uruguay.

When Andie went off to college at the University of Kentucky, she continued to perform, earning a minor in flute performance alongside her rigorous study of Agricultural and Medical Biotechnology. Her educational path took her to Connecticut, where she studied law at the University of Connecticut, and you may have already guessed that she took her flute with her! An attorney by day, and a top-notch musician by night, Andie continues to delight in making beautiful music for all to hear (including her dog, Dakota). In music and life, Andie strongly believes that the beauty is in the details.

“Music is a gift that is meant to be shared.”

Josh has been making music since as early as he could hold a wooden spoon (kitchen pots and pans were his first instruments)! At age five, Josh began playing the piano. From the very beginning, he was never shy to perform. Josh’s first performance was for his Great Grandma’s birthday party. After playing “Happy Birthday” once for the party crowd he recalls asking excitedly, “Can I play it again?” From early on, he knew intuitively that music is a gift that is meant to be shared… maybe even more than once!

Growing up, Josh played throughout his home state of Wisconsin, performing everywhere from restaurants and churches to jazz clubs and orchestral halls. From there, he went on to earn his Bachelor of Music, studying jazz piano at the University of Michigan. Through his studies, he only grew stronger in his conviction that everyone deserves to have music in their lives. Today, spreading the joy of music continues to be Josh’s mission. He works as a piano technician, authors instructional books and songbooks, teaches piano students, and performs locally in Connecticut.

“Love should be celebrated every day.”

We were playing music together even before we met.

We grew up near Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and for several years, we were both members of the Milwaukee Youth Symphony Orchestra without having ever spoken to one another. It wasn’t until 2017, the year the group went on tour in South America that we finally found each other through the sea of violins. After the tour, Andie went to one of Josh’s gigs, and the rest is history. Through college and the beginning of our careers, our love only grew. We have truly found a special love.

We have always done many things we love together; we’ve traveled, gone on adventures with our dog, cooked new recipes, and much more, but as we began our busy careers we realized that something was missing. With a yearning to continue doing what we both love (and better yet, together!), The Catania Two was born.

We cherish our love together, and we have so much fun helping couples celebrate theirs. Our love grows as we grow, and like you, we know how precious that is. Love should be celebrated every day, especially on your wedding day! On your special day, we’ll do the job of making sure the music fits in seamlessly so you can focus on what matters: the two of you and the love that you share.
